Review: Low Life Porch Citrus Saison

Low Life Porch SaisonToday's sampling is Low Life Barrel House's Porch Citrus Saison. The name alone makes me feel like this Belgian-style Saison is meant to be savoured in the spring time on a three season porch as the weather generally gets better. Like Low Life's other Saisons, this is going to be a funky, citrusy Saison. 5.5% ABV

Appearance: Very hazy with a deep golden body to it. Quite carbonated to the point it's fizzing pretty loudly. There's a moderate amount of snow white head on top that diminishes for the most part, but there's still a light layer of foam that follows the beer as it's being sampled.

Aroma: The funkiness of Brett is the first thing I get, just like their House Saison. Lots of lemon, oak, a hint of peach and other fruits to it.

Taste: Mild sweetness ot it that's mostly lemon, peach, melon, as well as a hint of oak and Brett to give it a mild funkiness to it. Fairly dry to the palate, easier to drink than House Saison so far as it's more of a fruity citrusy Saison this time around. Moderate fizzing in the mouth and a slight bready aftertaste at the end.

Overall Thoughts: Decent citrusy Saison. Not much else to really say. I've had this before and I'll have this again!
