From the can: Sometimes you just want to kick back, relax, and enjoy an easy drinking beer with a little edge, with accents of malt and a light thin hop finish. Our Golden Ale is crisp and refreshing. Cheers! 2 Row & Cara malt, Hallertau Tradition and Saaz hops. 20 IBU, less than 0.5% ABV. For Nutrition Facts visit their website
Appearance: Mildly cloudy Blonde Ale with a lot of carbonation in the body and a moderate amount of snow white head on top. Once it settles a moment later the head is pretty much nowhere to be seen. its' just a few bubbles on top and that's it - no lacing on the glass to be seen!
Aroma: If you've ever been to a brewery on brew day, this is exactly what it smells like. It's the smell of a raw, barley porridge. it's got a raw, bready aroma to it. This one has a bit of citrus notes to mask the rawness of the beer and also a somewhat floral and grassy hoppiness to it as well but it's definitely got a heafty raw malt aroma so far. At the very end I get sort of a cinnamon-like spice to it.
Taste: A tad strong for a Blonde. There's the raw bready doughiness that I was talking about in the aroma, but also a good deal of citrus notes in there. It's also got a slight tartness to it that I can't describe. Grassy, tad floral hop notes to it. Aftertaste is a bit of lemon and grassy hops at the end.
Overall Thoughts: Needs a bit more tweaking as I find that "raw" dough kind of presence a bit offputting in this day and age, especially after having Peroni a few months ago that has become my current pick for best NA Pils(e)ner on the market.
I may review their Cider if this review ends up being popular with those who read my non-alcoholic reviews.
