“Where do you get the names of your beers?” Everywhere and anywhere …but odds are Raving Loops of Computer Music came from a poetically apt --probably misremembered-- phrase from an overwrought Pitchfork article about 90s rave culture stuck in the folds of our minds. Hey, we're not about judging.
4.3% ABV and has a label meant for the US market but purchased in Manitoba two months ago. Canning date of September 26, 2023, making it a few days shy of a year old as I'm writing this.
Appearance: THIS. IS. A GUSHER. I tend to not to worry about gushing beers now days so when they do happen, I am ill prepared to the point that it will happen anywhere - on my couch, on my bedroom carpet, anywhere. This sucks. Anywho.. deep and opaque amber-caramel body with a lot of carbonation in the body and a heavy amount of beige foamy head on top, the head diminishes pretty quickly and gradually, leaving behind a layered lacing on the glass.
Aroma: From the gushing, I smell like the beer now. This beer with a long name is pretty much your standard Amber Lager - it's sweet, notes of caramel, a tad bit nutty, slightly earthy and no noticeable hop presence. At least the aroma is very inviting - and a type of beer I haven't seen in many, many years.. this brings me back 20 years already!

Taste: Sweet with notes of caramel, a bit of a toasted malt to give it a bit of a nuttiness to it. Inoffensive, pretty smooth and not much to really talk about here. Has a bit of a metallic bite to it, definitely a bit gassy for me but for it being a year old - still actually a solid Amber Lager.
Overall Thoughts: It's now October and this works well for the season.. but not happy about the gushing part, but it ended up being a solid Amber Lager in the end. Name of the beer is too long for me to type out.
