I reviewed Dageraad Brewing's Seven Saison
From the website: Combining the mission figs once grown by Franciscan monks on this continent with the yeast used by Trappist monks in Europe, Dageraad Brune is our take on a classic Belgian abbey dubbel. Dageraad Brune is refermented in the bottle, so pour with care to leave the yeast sediment in the bottle. 7.5% ABV
Appearance: This brown ale has a reddish-brown raisin body with a ruby red hue to it, minimal carbonation. Thick amount of yellowish-beige head on top that diminishes pretty much immediately with no lacing on the glass, just a hint of creamy head on top of the beer.
Aroma: Sweet, boozy, raisiny, caramel and even burns the nostrils a tad, slight earthiness.
Taste: Belgian Brown Ale with a hefty amount of caramel sweetness, tad bit of nuttiness, notes of raisin, plum, a tad bit of a woodiness. figs, brown sugar.
Overall Thoughts: Can't really describe - see the tasting and aroma profile, that's what it is, darn tasty! Sweet, nutty, notes of raisin and plum.. definitely a Belgian-style Dubbel!

Sounds like a very good strong ale. If you make a trip to Italy, stop by Knulp.
