Merci Alain for sending this my way! Today I'm checking Toucan IPA by L'Octant Microbrasserie out of Rimouski, Quebec.
Rough translation by yours truly: This beer is a New England IPA inspired beer. We transport you directly to tropical forests where the pineapple, passionfruit, citrus fruits, lychee and the toucan's screams waken up our tastebuds. 6.5% ABV
Appearance: Hazy and orange body with a thick off-white head on top, it was a tad bit of a gusher the second I opened up the can but it settled pretty quickly. The head goes down gradually to leave behind a sprinkling of foam on the glass.
Aroma: Tropical, floral, soapy, sweet. Notes of pineapple, passionfruit, lemon, followed by a floral and leafy hop presence and ends off with a tad bit of a soapiness that reminds me a bit of Dove soap.
Taste: Starts off very leafy and floral hop-forward, followed by a bit of a yeastiness to give off a tingling bitterness on the palate, and then finally a mild tropical presence of predominantly pineapple and lemon. Pretty much your typical NEIPA really
