Review: Kilter Fog Machine Double IPA (Azacca)

A few weeks ago Kilter Brewing announced that they were now selling their beer Canada-wide (hors-Québec) through Canada Post. I've harassed Miguel et cie for quite a long time about sending their beer to Brandon, well their beer is available only metres away from my place now but with COVID still going on, I'm not going to Winnipeg at the moment so I splurged on an order of beer moments after seeing the announcement.. mainly to show that I'll put money where my mouth is and not complain about lack of availability for once.

I picked up a bunch of their Azacca edition of Fog Machine as well as a couple cans of their Slurpii, so here we go.. today I'm checking out their Azacca edition of Fog Machine. 8.0% ABV.

Appearance: Deep lemon with a bit of an orange body to it, opaque, very light noticeable carbonation on the body and a moderate amount of snow white head on top that diminishes rather quickly to give off a layered lacing on the glass.

Aroma: Very leafy-forward Double IPA with a bit of a vegetal (lettuce) presence to it. Tropical with a bit of a creamsicle vibe to it.. good deal of orange and pineapple. Hint of spice at the end.. perhaps coriander?

Taste: Like the aroma, it's a very leafy-foward Double IPA. Not overly tropical through it does have a bit of orange and pineapple popping out. Decently sweet, but predominantly leafy with a tad bitterness and a good amount of yeastiness.

Overall Thoughts: Not bad, hoppy though not very bitter nor tropical. Decently smooth.
