From the can: Refreshing and Tart / 3 IBU. A Berliner Weisse aged on fresh peaches. Juicy notes of peach and apricot blend together with the natural acidity from the kettle sour to create a fruity tart and refreshing finish. 4.3% ABV
Appearance: Pours a hazy lemon yellow with a lot of cloudiness to it, a little bit of clarity but not much. The body has a moderate amount of carbonation throughout the beer, while the head is fairly light with a snow white hue to it, mostly close to the glass with a sprinkling of bubbles on top.
Aroma: Mildly sour with mostly notes of lemon, a bit of grain (raw barley and a bit of oatiness), light sweetness and a bit of peach aroma but it's fairly faint, so it smells just like just about every Berliner Weisse I've ever had for the most part. Not overly sour nor tart.
Taste: Tart with a decent amount of lemon to it, a tad sweet and a lot of grain to it that's quite cereally and bready. The peach comes out a bit but I find the tartness of the lemon seems to be more aggressive, though the peach is there.. just a tad, to give it a slight sour peaches candy vibe to it. The more I drink it, the more my palate gets an overly sour/tart flavour lingering with a bit of Alphabets cereal taste to it.
Overall Thoughts: Still not a sour fan, this is something I can handle in small samples like in a flight, so a 473mL can is a bit much for me. That said, there will be a day again when I start enjoying sour beers again. This one is decently grainy, lots of lemon, hint of peach for sweetness and tartness, hint of grassy hops. Well, the more I drink it, the more I want more of this, so there's that as well, I'm a confusing person.
