I got to visit Dageraad Brewing in Burnaby, BC a month and half ago. I recently found out that their beer is actually available here in Manitoba at the Quality Beer Store in Winnipeg. I honestly didn't expect it but after seeing beer I bought to take home at the Quality Beer Store.. it's not really surprising.
One beer I didn't pick up but had at the brewery is Dageraad's Burnabarian Belgian-style Table Beer, topping out at 4.5% ABV.
From the label: "Great for drinking on a sunny patio or knocking back after a long day’s work, Burnabarian is a table beer, or Belgian-style session ale. Named for the city that Dageraad calls home, Burnabarian is lightly spiced with coriander and is brewed with oats for a silky mouthfeel."
Appearance: A cloudy golden straw appearance with a good deal of carbonation in the body, there is a thick amount of snow white head on top; it diminishes pretty quickly to mostly have a bit of a layered lacing on the side of the glass, a light amount of actual foam on the beer.
Aroma: Notes of lemon, floral hops, hint of peppercorn, citrusy, grass, slightly grainy, a tad of a barn yard presence to it.. it brings me back memories.. moderately musky.
Taste: Kind of sweet with a bit of candi sugar and a bit of caramel. There's a good deal of lemon
and citrusy notes. A bit of melon, pear and apple; A bit of a bready and peppery profile.. nice! The hops have a slight tropical presence and a very grassy and herbal presence to them. The aftertaste has a very doughy presence to it.
Overall Thoughts: Citrusy, bready and a tad fruity. Fairly easy to drink but has a lot of citrus notes and even some pepper, no regrets buying this beer even after sampling it at the brewery!
