Day 6 out of 24.. already a quarter of the way done! Today's is Sierra Nevada's Torpedo Extra IPA. The snobs will get out their pitch forks... this has been in the fridge for a few months.. so sue me, I've been busy.
Appearance: Pours a caramel amber, slightly hazy, decent amount of beige creamy foam.
Aroma: Yeah, my fault, but the aroma has mellowed. When I bought it, it was a very hoppy, bitter, floral and citrusy aroma. It's now slightly bitter, a hint of hops and more reminiscent to a hoppy pale..
Taste: Has kept its flavour fine, but I can already read the critiques that I should've drank it months ago.. I don't give a flying eff. It has a floral hoppy bitterness to it, a bit of a creamy feel to my palate, slightly citrusy. The hoppiness leaves a bit of a bitter aftertaste that gradually diminishes.
Overall Thoughts: Enjoying this though it's past its best before date of 3 weeks ago. The Torpedo generally has more of a aromatic hoppiness everywhere, it's mellowed quite a bit.. but really enjoy it!
