Today they announced they will be bringing the following beers:
- Bacchus Framboise by Van Honsebrouck Brewery (Belgium). It is a fruity raspberry beer that uses 25% fresh raspberry juice and natural sugar. Appearance is described to having a clear dark red beer with a pink head. This sounds a bit like the appearance of Unibroue's Éphémère Cassis. The Framboise will cost $5.12 for a 375mL bottle.
- Kasteel Brown by Van Honsebrouck Brewery. This beer was previously available in Manitoba two years ago. Great to see this beer back in the market! It costs $3.77 for a 330mL bottle.
- Rochefort 10 by Brasserie Rochefort (Belgium). Oh my eff.. this beer is one of the creme de la creme beers out of Belgium. This was previously available in Manitoba for years but it was discontinued in Manitoba nearly 2.5 years ago. Costs $4.58 for a 330mL bottle.
- Unibroue Summer Collection (Unibroue - Sapporo). I'm glad to see this coming to Manitoba. The Summer Collection includes a rarity that hasn't been brewed since the 90s - La Gaillarde, which I had the privilege of tasting recently! The pack also includes La Fin du Monde, Blonde de Chambly and Blanche de Chambly. This will be a great summer treat as all of these are a nice patio accompagniment. Costs $22.81. I'll be hoarding this!
- Budweiser Shot (Anheuser Busch-InBev). I assume that this is Budweiser's take on Molson Canadian Cold Shots, higher alcohol content and smaller can format. It comes in a 4 pack of 236mL cans. Costs $5.13
That's about it for now! I'm excited as a beer geek, and being a Belgian beer fanatic, this will be a great summer!
Drink less, drink better!
