A few weeks back I tried Minhas' Imperial Jack Double IPA, which was a very poor excuse for a Double IPA (when compared to the crème de la crème of Canadian Double IPAs - Half Pints Humulus Ludicrous), I still managed to swallow down that dirty water anyways. So now I'm about to try their Mystical Jack Traditional Ale, will they manage to fuck this beer up like every other beer they make?
Appearance: Wow, it looks appetizing. It's a very very dark colour, it's like a porter in appearance, or a very very very dark ale, but not quite a stout. Head is a creamy beige, not going anywhere.
Aroma: Minhas is trying to trick me, I can just tell it. It's a very nice roasted malt aroma, almost like roasted coffee bean. There's no way this beer can be any good.. there's just no way.
Taste: Bitter and you can taste the alcohol, which is never a good thing, but it's actually drinkable.. Perhaps Minhas swapped labels with an actual beer? It has roasted maltiness, dark chocolate, with a bit of a bitter aftertaste that lingers on the tongue afterwards. Mostly a malty coffee sort of taste.. which isn't bad as 'tis the season for coffeeish beers.
Overall Thoughts: If Minhas gave a damn about quality over being "damn
