Today, I noticed Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc, a beer in a blue beer bottle in stock. This is the first time I've seen a blue beer bottle, so it should be interesting none-the-less. It's 330mL bottle with 5% ABV, so now I'm trying it!
Appearance: Blue beer bottle, reminds me of Bawlz a bit, the shape of the bottle is the same old Kronenbourg. Pouring the beer, a very very very pale hazy golden yellow colour. Reminds me of a domestic take on witbier. White head.
Aroma: The very second I popped off the cap, skunky like most European lagers.. wow. But as soon as I poured it, it had a bit of a zing of citrus reminiscent of Five Alive. A bit of lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit. Fairly faint. Very much smells like a domestic sort of witbier.
Taste: This is the Five Alive of beers. It's pretty boring, not much of a mouthfeel, but it has a citrusy zing of Five Alive, pretty light. Too innocent of a beer for my liking.
Overall thoughts: Too much of a five alive beer. This may be very drinkable for those who can't drink "beer" (the Bud Light Lime crowd), but for a beer connoisseur, if you want a good witbier, it isn't this. It was around $2.15 before tax. 5% ABV
