Review: Elysian Space Dust IPA

Elysian Space Dust IPAToday's review is a beer I thought I reviewed yeaaaaars ago but nope, I never did - Elysian Space Dust IPA.

Tehe hopping is pure starglow energy, with Chinook to bitter and late and ddry additions of Citra and Amarillo. 8.2% ABV. Space Dust balances bitterness with a sweetness of hop flavors. Grapefruit, mango, and orange aromas with a medium body and a dry finish.

When looking up info on the beer, I just realized that Elysian is an AB-InBev brand.. so while I don't want to support this megacorp, this beer is still good. I feel a bit dirty about to review this but nobody's really reviewing any beer out there like this anymore.

Appearance: Opaque orange body with a tad bit of carbonation in the body. There's a moderate amount of snow-white head on top, and that's pretty much it. Looks like a classic hazy IPA to me.

Aroma:
Sweet and malt forward with a heavy tropical presence to it - caramel and notes of mango, orange and a moderate amount of grapefruit to it. There's a moderate leafy hop presence to it, bit of pine, pretty straight forward for the most part.

Taste: Leafy hopped-IPA with notes of grapefruit, pine, lemon, a smidgen of mango. Moderately sweet and even has a hint of caramel malt popping up eventually but I'm drinking this too quickly to be able to properly decipher this. Pretty smooth yet moderately bitter. This is your classic IPA from 15 years ago.. my kind of IPA.

Overall Thoughts: Moderately bitter, sweet and a bit tropical, pretty smooth, reminiscent of IPAs from way back when. One of the better AB-InBev offerings out there, definitely better than Goose IPA any day of the week.
